Shadow Art: sublime forms from jumbles of everyday objects

City-view

Absolutely inspiring.  You see a pile of garbage or a collection of blocks on a wall.  But, if you shine a light on it from a particular position and view the shadow cast, voila, a whole new meaning emerges.  See the website of artist Kumi Yamashita for more examples of this inspiring form of expression.

Bodyworlds - a fascinating view!

Image001

Jennifer and I recently attend the last day of the Bodyworlds exhibit “The Cycle of Life” in Zurich.  I have always been fascinated by the intricate function of the human body, and this is a chance to see the inner workings of real bodies, not replicas.  The science behind “plastination” is also amazing to read.  Check it out, they have exhibits worldwide.  It is very tastefully done and combines science, art and health messages.
